Booger Eating Friends
"I had a friend who said that he never got sick because he ate his own boogers."
That, my friends, is a strong way to start a book. Always go with your best card, right? This book will be cram packed full of wisdom filled nuggets just like that. See, you can learn a lot working in a motorcycle shop.
Not much of what I've learned is useful, but much of it is entertaining, and that's better than nothing.
For example, I've learned that some co-workers can be a great source of knowledge, some can be a great source of inspiration, and others could be great sources for illegal drugs.
I've learned that while some customers are honest and will admit to their mechanical weakness, others will tell outlandish stories to explain away damage. "Everything was running perfectly when I parked it, then my three year old puppy tried to install these Vance and Hines exhaust pipes and totally screwed it up!" That's usually followed by "I'd fix it myself, but I just don't have time."
But mostly I've learned a lot of little things about how machines work, how motorcycle shops work, and how people work. I'm writing this partially because others may enjoy it, but mostly because I never want to forget it.
